I licked envelopes as an intern at the Oklahoma State Capitol.
I asked Press Secretary for the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate Paul Sund how to create messages and communication for others. “Learn to write well and tell good stories,” Sund said.

I learned that you must consider your audience when crafting a message and creating a campaign. Actually, in the world of public affairs, you need real data about public perception and opinions when communicating.

AT&T
Dallas, Texas
2011 - 2014
I was hired by the client and began doing executive and internal communications for Human Resources and Big Data.
On a quest to learn more, I began consulting every middle manager in the company that would let me.
Soon, I had so many people coming to me for help, I could not keep up with my day job. To supply the demand, I created a process that got to clarity more quickly. I asked the same questions repeatedly. And repeatedly, middle managers left with a clear message.
Soon I had executives coming to me, too.
While doing this, I created the process into an application called Points on Paper. At the end of the process and brainstorms, you would push a button, and you’d see an organized message map to guide you through whatever communication you might have.

At that time, the startup craze was in full swing. I quit my great AT&T job with the naive goal of selling my application and making a living.
I quickly learned that being a consultant meant that I had to fit my skills to my customer’s problems and wants, no matter what they were.
Here are some highlights of my accomplishments:s
• Worked as a blogger and content creator for a CRM company in Dallas and increased the company’s traffic by ten times. This is where I learned SEO.
• Helped dozens of veterans in a startup incubator called Honor Courage Commitment write their pitch and clarify their scope.
• Consulted many middle managers looking for additional work or needing basic communication help.

After working continuously, I signed a contract with Facebook.

Trained 600 employees in six months with a 90+% approval rating. The training is still running and more than 2,500 employees have been trained in total.
I am still contracting with Facebook's Learning and Development Executive in Office of CMO to create and execute communication strategy for Marketing, Analytics and Diversity Equity Inclusion team.

2020 - Present
During the pandemic, I started working for an ethical drug treatment center. Two of my family members went to this treatment center and are still sober.
The family-owned business was being taken advantage of by a marketing company and needed a different direction.
I agreed to help them. When the pandemic hit, I went on full-time while also working for Facebook. I increased their conversions, blog traffic and calls to the admissions line.
They recently promoted me to Chief Communications Officer, where I oversee all communication and create content.
My experience has given me a well-rounded education in various marketing and communication roles.
